09 Aug Brothers for the Battle
Romans 16:14 – Greet Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas, and the brothers who are with them.
The cool thing in this part of the passage is a list of men who are doing ministry together, shoulder-to-shoulder.
Women and men build their relationships differently – you probably have noticed this.
Women build their relationships face-to-face. For ladies, it’s “Hey, let’s get coffee, I need to see you.” If any guy says that…just no.
Men do shoulder-to-shoulder. We go to the gun range and shoot some things. Or we’ll watch a cage fight, and now we’re bonded at the heart level. We go to games, we go hunting, we go fishing.
This is a group of guys who are serving God, doing life together. This is how guys build relationships. Men, when you come into the church and don’t know how to make relationships, just find a place to serve and you’ll find your brothers for the battle.
Men, are you serving in your church? If not, I’d encourage you to find a place to serve. Ladies, if you’re married, serve alongside your husband to make your relationship even better.
