15 Aug You Are a Witness to God’s Work
Do you really believe that God is good, alive, and at work in the world? With so much bad news, it is perhaps more important than ever that God’s people share the good news of God’s work in the world.
Where do you see God at work in your life and the lives of people you know? Who can you encourage by sharing the stories of what God is doing? What was the last encouraging faithful-filled story that you have heard about God’s work in someone’s life?
During the final week of Jesus’ life with the cross on the horizon, we read this in John 12:17, “The crowd that had been with him when he called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead continued to bear witness.” Despite opposition from religious leaders who were critical of Jesus, His followers continued to bear witness to His work. In particular, they could not stop telling the story of how Jesus had raised his friend Lazarus from death. Because of God’s work and their witness, more and more people heard about Jesus Christ.
This is, at the simplest level, how Christianity spreads. God does a work in someone’s life and those who are honored to witness this work then tell the good news of God’s work to others. The result is that God is honored and other people are encouraged to have God help them too.
Whose witness to God’s work in your life has made a significant impact? Who can you share God’s work in your life with?
