13 Feb If You Kneel Before the King, You Can Stand Before kings
Daniel 2:26-28 – The king declared to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, “Are you able to make known to me the dream that I have seen and its interpretation?” Daniel answered the king and said, “No wise men, enchanters, magicians, or astrologers can show to the king the mystery that the king has asked, but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and he has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days…But as for me, this mystery has been revealed to me, not because of any wisdom that I have more than all the living, but in order that the interpretation may be made known to the king, and that you may know the thoughts of your mind.
The mightiest man on earth, Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, was awakened from his sleep drenched in sweat terrified by a dream sent from the King of Heaven. Frantic, he demanded that his counterfeit spiritual advisers, empowered by demons, reveal to him both the dream and its interpretation.
Because the dream came from God, none of the demonic spiritual leaders could interpret it because they did not have the Spirit of God. So, the king sent forth a decree that they all be killed.
Facing death, Daniel was rushed before the king. Because he had the Holy Spirit, he alone was able to know and interpret the king’s dream. Giving credit to his God, Daniel served the king and kingdom by sharing God’s interpretation of the dream. From this scene we learn four things about what God creates and what Satan counterfeits:
- Other kings are not like King Jesus. You could not enter the presence of the king of Babylon unless you were invited. But King Jesus welcomes us into His presence at any time.
- In entering the king’s throne room, Daniel was experiencing the demonic counterfeit of God’s divine throne room where He rules and reigns from.
- Because Daniel knelt before the King of Kings, he could stand before a king.
- While a king rules a kingdom, the King of Heaven rules over all other kings. Proverbs 21:1 says, “The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD; he directs it like a watercourse wherever he pleases.”
