Who is the King? Part 2

Who is the King? Part 2

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this. Isaiah 9:6–7

In Revelation 17:14 we read of Jesus crushing all enemies and other kings and kingdoms, saying, “They will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.”

One day, King Jesus will wear white and mount His white horse.50 He will lead His army to wage war against evildoers. Revelation 19:15 says, “From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty.”

This Jesus is a warrior. He inspires those who follow Him to defend and protect the widow, orphan, elderly, and vulnerable from the bullies, murderers, thieves, pimps, rapists, and sadists. Those who love King Jesus hate all that dishonors Him and are motivated to see all evil come to an end. They are hoping for a front-row seat to the second feast of Revelation 19, where evildoers will have their flesh feasted upon by flocks of carrion birds.

Until the end, God’s people are to wait patiently and serve diligently. In this life we are to suffer courageously and serve humbly like Jesus did during His incarnation, trusting that all will be made right in due time.

What do you think it will be like to live in an eternal Kingdom of peace where there are no wars or conflicts?
